Our History

Avature’s senior management worked together in a previous endeavor – HotJobs.com. Dimitri Boylan, the founder of Avature, is the co-founder and former CEO of HotJobs.com, which he sold to Yahoo! in 2002.

The HotJobs story was one of early web innovation, strong sales growth, aggressive brand building and strong customer support. Our brand grew rapidly with the help of four Superbowl commercials. At the time of sale HotJobs.com was the 49th most visited Internet site in the world and supported a user base of millions. The HotJobs enterprise software business supported over 200 Fortune 500 companies. The company had 700 employees and 14 offices in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.

HotJobs grew from $3.4MM in revenue in 1997 to $117MM in revenue in 2001 and raised $168MM in private and public capital. HotJobs’ NASDAQ market cap increased 300% in 2001 in a year that the market index declined over 30%. At the time of sale, HotJobs was profitable and cash flow positive. The company was sold for $433MM in cash and stock.

Some of our team remained at Yahoo! for several more years before rejoining Boylan at Avature. All of our senior management has at least 10 years of Internet technology experience combined with either process and change management, sales, and/or recruiting experience.
